Diving Into the Deep: Part II

Disclaimer:  Although I identify as being Christian, this is a broad post about religion.   Ok, so it's a little bit later than Friday.  What was I thinking tell yall I would write a post on my birthday weekend?!  Oh well, my birthday was awesome and the celebration is continuing.   Alright, so we started talking about religion as a whole in my previous post.  Well, I have to admit I'm enjoying Bible Study during the week and watching Sunday service online.  Yes, I know I need to be around like-minded people, but there are some things about Sunday service that have started to turn me away.   Let's get another disclaimer out of the way: this is my blog!!!  All opinions are my own and just some things I've noticed from observation and how I feel.   Music: I think that all music, Christian, pop, country, whatever you want to listen to - it should have some type of meaning.  The meaning should be heard in the lyrics AND by the delivery.  I think people have forg

Diving into the deep

Disclaimer:  Although I identify as being Christian, this is a broad post about religion.  If any of you are interested in allowing your answer to be featured in a future post will, please email me at and put "Religion" in the subject line. A friend of mine posted a very intriguing question on Facebook the other day.  She is always asking interesting questions, but this one got the attention of many.  Here we go... For those raised in the church, why do you attend or why don't you attend church anymore?   However, I want to take it up a notch... For anyone of any religion, why have you changed religions, no longer attend services, or started going to services as an adult? As previously stated, I identify as Christian, but that doesn't mean that I'm not in a place of wondering or questioning.   I would love to hear your thoughts and be on the lookout for Friday's post as I start to answer this question.

Say cheese!!!

Another cheesy post.  I can't help it!  Did some online shopping from Forever 21 Plus and I got my items yesterday.  OMG - it was a wonderful mini fashion show.  On the other hand, one of the items has to go back because my boobs are not shrinking.   So, I cannot wait to show you these items.  As I wear them, I'll definitely be posting them on my Instagram page.  AHHHHHHH --- I just love this feeling right now!  I've never been this comfy with myself to buy items out of my comfort zone.  You know, short and a bit revealing, but they are all cute and I think I look awesome in them.   Ok, cheesy post over.  What have you done differently this year?

Wannabe a yogi

So, something amazing happened Sunday!  For the first time in six years, I went to a yoga class.  Now, I've been doing yoga off and on with videos at my place, but it wasn't the same.  I missed the serenity of being in a class instead of looking around my house and thinking I need to be doing that or I have something to do as soon as I take my last yoga breath.  It wasn't the yoga I wanted to be doing.   Well, I took a chance at getting back in yoga.  I mean, I'm heavier than I was six years ago, even though I'm working on that.  It's always a bit unnerving doing something new, even if you've done it before.  However, the class was great and my body felt fantastic.  I am so excited to go to another class.  I'm so excited to get back to a level of flexibility I had before I left Charlotte.  I am so excited to be healthier than ever before.   Here's to another new adventure in 2018!

This Feeling

Every once in a while, I feel like I write a cheesy post.  This is one of those times.  Honestly, I'm just here to tell you about the fabulous day I had yesterday.   It started off with a pretty solid workout.  I shocked myself with how many calories I burned.  Then it was time for an essential shopping trip (you know, for groceries) and then I filled up my car.  I mean, I had to make sure there would be no stopping once I got started today.  After that, it was on!!! I had bought a new eye shadow palette from NYX a couple of weeks ago and I cracked it open today.  I was highly impressed and I loved how it went on.  Needless to say, I will definitely be taking this with me when I go on vacation next month because there colors are perfect!!! So, after I did my eyes, I thought I have time to do a full face.  I really didn't, but saying that made me feel better.  Got my full face finished and then I headed out to one of my fav second hand stores.  It was another success

Just Losing It

I said I would keep you posted on this whole weight loss thing (which I'm hoping will turn into a solid lifestyle change).  Well, yesterday was weigh day and I am happy to announce that I am down 21.5 pounds since January 1.  I think I am only going to give you an update in the blog once a month.  If you want constant updates and to even see some workouts, just follow me on Instagram .    This is exciting to me because I had actually set a goal to lose 20 pounds by March 1.  Why March?  Well, March is my birthday month, along with a few friends of mine, and we just love life.  There will be lots of food and cake.  But, I am happy because I have a better handle on how much cake I can eat.  It's all about moderation.   So, I have looked back on what I have done in the past and what I am doing now and I have come up with three things that have helped me to succeed in the first two months of the year.   1 - Writing down my workouts! Yes, I use LoseIt to track calories and
